Megapixel High Definition Arecont Vision H.264 IP Security Cameras
High Definition H.264 IP Security Cameras
In order to reduce network traffic as well as file size, Arecont Vision released an H.264 version of their popular megapixel IP security cameras. These cameras, included here as C or CS-mount box-style cameras provide the versatility of selecting an MJPEG or H.264 video stream, allowing you to record smaller files and use less network traffic than previous MJPEG-only CS-Mount Arecont Vision IP cameras.
The H.264 video format is a more advanced video compression codec which requires more processing power on the camera, which is why these cameras are slightly more expensive than their MJPEG version brothers. These cameras can help reduce network traffic dramatically while still delivering excellent quality video. Depending on tuning of the camera, some users will find reduction of 20%-40% of network traffic per camera, and file size in comparison to previous MJPEG model Arecont Vision IP cameras. These model IP cameras have a distinctive (AVxx05) model number to designate the H.264 video compression.
The H.264 versions of the Arecont Vision box-style IP security cameras run on standard PoE (Power over Ethernet) so that you only have to run a single CAT5 network cable to each camera from your PoE switch. Connect to these high definition cameras from a standard web browser for viewing, or connect them to your NVR software to record high definition video from 1.3 MegaPixel (1280x1024) to 5.0 MegaPixel (2592x1944) resolutions. Various C/CS Mount lenses are available to provide the desired width of view.
These Arecont Vision megapixel cameras can be installed into a seperate outdoor dome or outdoor box style enclosure to transform this camera into an outdoor style security camera, or the camera can be mounted to a standard bracket for indoor security camera installations.
