Remote Viewing your Cameras over the Internet
Having cameras in place and recording is one thing, but once the cameras are in place, what benefit are you getting from them on top of recording? All Platinum CCTV DVR Systems allow you to remotely view your cameras over the internet, so that you can always keep watch of what is happening at your home or business. Each of our systems has different levels of remote viewing capabilities, outlined below.
Internet Explorer Browser Remote Viewing
Both our Alnet Systems PC-Based DVR Systems and our Standalone DVR systems provide remote viewing capabilities from an Internet Explorer Web browser. This means that you can access your live cameras over the internet from any PC with Internet Explorer. Simply enter the IP address or dynamic pointer of your internet connection, and quickly bring up live cameras. Alnet PC-Based DVR Web remote viewing is shown to the right (which works with IE, Mozilla, Netscape and even Safari), and below you will find the web page remote viewing for our DVR-2213TL 4-Channel Standalone DVRs (Compatible with IE only).

Internet Explorer browser remote viewing is the most basic form of remote viewing for a DVR system, but it is an essential function. It allows you to quickly access the remote viewing of your cameras from any PC, anywhere in the world. IE based remote viewing is also very popular when using your DVR System to add value to your customers, your clients can simply log-in to a web page with login information that you provide, and quickly be able to view the cameras that you are providing for them to view. PC Remote Client Software
All of our PC-Based DVR Systems provide the capability to install a remote client software onto your PC or laptop, allowing you to view your cameras over the internet or network in full-resolution, including the ability to playback pre-recorded footage from anywhere. PC Remote Client Remote viewing is a key element for DVR systems for home or business that are going to be viewed frequently. This is because of the fact that it affords the ability to get video in full-resolution remotely. Remote client software can be installed on as many PCs and Laptops as you choose, so you can be connected in simultaneously from multiple locations at once. Advanced User-Access control on the Alnet PC Based DVR Solutions, allow you to set up many user accounts, which can be set to access specific cameras and allowed login during specific timeframes. Advanced user-level access, is one of the reasons that our Alnet PC Based DVR Systems are very popular.
Windows Mobile PDA Phone Remote Viewing
All of our PC-Based DVR Recording systems provide PDA Remote viewing software which can be installed into any Windows Mobile PDA or PDA Phone, allowing you to access video right on your mobile device over the internet. This is becoming a very popular way to keep watch of your home or business over the internet, as you are no longer tied to any specific computer. Many home or business owners are already using their PDA phones to watch their cameras while in traffic, on the train, or away on vacation.
Our Alnet Systems PC-Based DVR Recording systems even provide the ability to view Live, playback pre-recorded video, control PTZ Cameras, actuate digital outputs, view digital inputs and more right from your Windows Mobile PDA Phone. These systems have also been popular with Daycare centers, Auto Repair facilities, and even animal boarding kennels who then set up user accounts and allow their customers to watch specific cameras right from their PDA phone, allowing them to watch their children during the day, their vehicles in the shop, or their animals while away on vacation.
Windows Mobile SmartPhone Remote Viewing
For years, only those with touch-screen PDA phones could partake in remote viewing of their home or business security cameras. However, with the introduction of our Alnet VDR-C Smartphone client, now any users of Windows mobile smartphones are able to do everything with their smartphone that other users can accomplish with their PDA touch-screen phones. This opens up mobile remote viewing to many users around the world.
The Windows Mobile Smartphone VDR-C Alnet remote client software operates with all of our Alnet PC-Based DVR Recorders, and allows for viewing Live cameras, Playing back pre-recorded video, controlling PTZ Cameras, and actuating inputs/outputs right from a Windows Mobile PDA Smartphone.
Java-Enabled Cell-Phone Remote Viewing
Further expanding the capabilities of our Alnet Systems PC-Based DVR systems, we also have a Symbian and Java cell phone client, which can offer basic remote viewing of your cameras right from a standard cell phone by installing a Java or Symbian client right onto your cell phone. This offers basic remote viewing of live video only, and can be quite a bit slower than PDA or Smartphone remote access, due to the slower internet connection and slower processors on the normal cell phones, but it is definitely a benefit to those who do not have the PDA or Smartphones.
