Re: New computer with VISTA

SirNard,

The Drivers download is a Zip file, which is a compressed file that contains all of the necessary files for installing the drivers.  Once you have downloaded the file, you will need to extract the files from the Zip file.  Windows Vista should access the ZIP file just like any normal folder, and on the left hand side it should give options to extract files to a normal folder.

Once you have extracted the files, you will need to run the Setup.exe Executable file.  This will begin the driver installation process...it will run a normal installer.

Once the executable file has run, then you can reboot your computer and have windows "found new hardware wizard" run to find the drivers.  If there are any warnings during the installation of the drivers, tell it to Continue anyway.

Thank you

Re: New computer with VISTA

That sounds correct.  You have the drivers that you should.  BT878 Audio and BT878 Video are for the Security Eyes DVR Card....The Realtek is for your PC's Audio Card so it is unrelated.

So if the drivers are installed properly, then what is the exact problem that you are experiencing with the software?  Did you install Security Server?

Re: New computer with VISTA

Nard,

It is difficult to tell from the above exactly what is occurring...

If the video is displaying when you launch the program, but when you go into the settings it shows blue screens...Then it sounds like you might be having an issue with the Video card of your PC or the Video card drivers.

1.  What is the Hardware of the PC that you are installing the DVR Card into:

   A.  CPU (Type and Speed)
   B. RAM (Type and Amount)
   C.  Operating System (Windows XP or Vista AND 32-Bit or 64-Bit)
   D.  Video Card (Brand, and amount of RAM)

You may need to update the video card drivers for your video card...by downloading the latest drivers from the video card manufacturer's website. (for example http://Nvidia.com for NVidia video cards or http://atitech.com for ATI brand video cards).

If you have an ONBOARD video card (a video card that is built-in to the motherboard of your PC), then you should go into the "System Settings" --> "Start Set" on the first page of the Security Eyes Settings and UNCHECK the box for DirectDraw Overlay.  This will turn on software rendering, which should work better with any onboard video cards.

Also, make sure that you disable any screensavers that are turned on, because these can interfere with the video if they turn on during use of the Security Eyes Software.
