installation trouble
Hi,
I am having trouble installing my Security Eyes PV1400VPROA camera card.  WHen going through your installation instructions I run into trouble from where it says

"In Windows XP, a "Hardware Installation - WIndows XP Logo" Window will pop-up

Press "Continue ANyway" to continue Installation."

to the next step where it talks about shutting the computer down your usual way.

I am running WIndows XP with no service packs.  It is a fresh install so there is no other proprietary software.  The error message I get is "Can't copy BackupTempLogV101.mdb".  When I hit ok it just finishes and does not give the Windows asking me to Shut down.  I think that I got the drivers to install ok because it runs through the video and audio capture devices.

Re: installation trouble

William,

Assuming this is a recent card, with version 3.0 or above software (version can be found on the CD), it will require Windows XP SP2 with all of the latest windows updates in order to run properly.  This includes the optional DotNet 1 - 3 updates as well.  Please upgrade your computer, then uninstall the software, and reinstall the software to complete the installation properly.  This should fix the error that you are experiencing.

Thank you

Re: installation trouble

I have the PV-140Vpro.... 3.012D PCI Card

Is this a NASA program or something?  I have so much junk installed on my pc now and it still doesnt work.  I installed all updates have service pack 2 on and still get the same error.  I must have reinstalled this software 50 times.  I have net framework and all sorts of junk on now.  Is there a link to these optional .net updates because I have looked everywhere and only see framework update programes which I have installed.

Holly cow!

Re: installation trouble

John,

   Thank you for your post.

The DotNet updates are located in Microsoft Update, under the "Software (optional)" updates on the left hand side.  There will be a DotNet 1.0, DotNet 2.0 and DotNet 3.0.  It is recommended to install all 3 of these updates, then going back to Microsoft Update site, to install the Security Updates for each of the DotNet Updates.

For further assistance, Please provide the following information if the DotNet updates do not help with the issue that you are experiencing:

1. CPU Type and Speed
2. RAM Type and Amount
3. OS Build (Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Media Center Edition, etc.)
4. Video Card Brand, Model Number, Video RAM
5. Motherboard Brand and Model

and Most Importantly:  What error messages are you receiving?

With this information, we will be able to better assess the individual problem that you are experiencing, to help you arrive at a reasonable solution for your difficulties.

Thank you
