When trying to log onto xxxx.vdr-s.com I get a site called mikrotik. I then tried to download winbox but comes up with wrong username or password. I have not logged on for a long time.
ddevling,
After some research on google to determine what 'mikrotik' might be, it appears as though they are a manufacturer of routers. So the page you are getting is most likely the login page for your router. I would check with your IT personnel or your ISP for information on how to login to your router so that you can configure the port forwarding to forward ports 80, 9000 and 9001 to point at the internal IP address of your DVR PC.
Once that is complete, then you should be able to once again connect into your DVR remotely.

No, my modem is dlink and I access that through a local ip address. http://dmdvideo.vdr-s doesn't redirect me but gives me that microtik page with the url still showing the above address. I am also trying the iphone cms program but it doesn't log on. Just appears to be searching. Since I haven't been on the vdr-s site for so long do I just use my server admin log on and password?
Thank you.
Sir,
The Mikrotik page that you are getting has NOTHING to do with the Alnet software. This is not a part of the Alnet Software. On your Alnet DVR Server, Please open up a web page and go to http://whatismyip.com Then try connecting to the IP address from another PC instead of using your http://dmdvideo.vdr-s.com address.
If when connecting to the IP address, you get the same page, then that means that either you or your ISP has a mikrotik router in place...and you will have to consult with your IT professional or your ISP to resolve the issue. If using the IP address, you are able to get through to your system, that means that something may be blocking the DDNS update service on the Alnet PC...such as a firewall program or internet security program that might block outbound internet connections...or the Dynamic IP Service has been shut off on your DVR server. This is found in the Configuration --> Network Settings on the video tab. There are 2 buttons, one is for Dynamic IP updates and the other is for the video network services. Both should be highlighted in Red when active.

As for the iPhone...you can try using the IP Address for that as well. However, from our records, it appears as though your system was from 2006. If you have a USB Dongle with a 5-Digit number on it instead of an 8-Digit number, then you will probably not be able to connect using the iPhone or Google Android Clients. These newer clients require the newest version of the Alnet server software (V3.0 or above). In order to install this version of the software, you would need to purchase a newer software license and new 8-Digit USB key.
