Allowing Access via website
Modified By Platinum Support on 1/26/2009 8:43:21 PM)

The good news is everything is working as described. My current problem is I want to add a link to a website that will allow others to view my cameras. I have everything set up in my http exactly as shown in your reply to "Brian" on 3/29/2007 and I can't get connected. When I enter my server address -XXXXXXX.vdr-s.com-at the prompt line, I get the "The page cannot be displayed" error message. PLease help.

Re: Allowing Access via website

Ray,

Thank you for your post.  We have entered the http:// address that you gave in your post...and it opens perfectly fine and even auto-connects to your cameras.

What browser are you using to connect to your cameras?

Thank you

I've tried to reach http://XXXXXXX.vdr-s.com from work where the browser is internet explorer and from home where my browser is through verizon. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Re: Allowing Access via website

The first time we tried, it worked fine...Now it is not working.  Perhaps your router just changed IP address...we will retest in a few minutes.

Depending on how often your Internet Service Provider changes your IP address, there will be a short down time before alnet updates your IP with the server...so there can sometimes be a brief delay in functionality.

Now when we run a scan on the IP address associated with your name, it comes back with no ports open, so I think that either the server (Alnet PC) is shut down or disconnected from the internet, or the Dynamic IP address has changed and has not updated in our system yet.

We will retry again shortly and let you know.

Thank you

Re: Allowing Access via website

Ray,

We just tried again...the same IP address, and all ports were open, and the Web Page opened...but this time the user account either did not have access to the cameras, or too many users were presently logged in, because the page opened fine, but did not show the cameras after it logged in.

What did you change on your end?

Thank you
