hi, I'm trying to connect from the Remote Client to the Server but I get a messages that read: "No connection can be made because the target machine actively refused it" Thx Alex
Thx Alex
Alex, The error message "No connection can be made because the target machine actively refused it" is a general error message that is received when the communication is blocked by the server.
Check the following items first: 1. Ensure that there are no firewalls enabled on the server on the client that may be blocking communication
2. Ensure that the ports 9000 and 9001 are forwarded for TCP and UDP to the correct internal IP Address. You can get this address by running "ipconfig" in a DOS style command window and checking it against the entries in your router (at location of the server).
3. Make sure you are correctly entering the external address or registered address of your connection. - For example - myname.vdr-s.com (registered domain) or 99.99.0.99 (external IP address). Check the External IP address against the IP Address you get from opening http://whatismyip.com into a web browser on the VDR-S Server.
Generally, one of the above items will be the cause of this error message.
