Hi,
I built a system 3 years ago with 2 dvr cards and 8 460 TVL. Pc just died a week ago. I built a new pc moved the cards, installed original 2.0 software, connected dongle. It would not take the licence number. Also could select language. So uninstalled 2.0 and downloaded new software from alnets website. Installed new VDR software, I was able to enter the licence number. VDR software crashes every 3-5 minutes saying System Protection Error, cant find dongle. Could anyone help me with this. Thanks in advance.

swanriver,
Thank you for your post. In order to determine which software needs to be run, you must first look at the USB Dongle. USB Dongle: 1. If the USB Dongle has a 5-Digit License Number on the Dongle - Then you MUST install only the VDR-S V2.0 APS software. The newer software will not work with this dongle. After installation, you will have to enter the 10-digit Product-License number that was included on a sheet of paper in the box. You can Download the APS software here: http://Platinum-CCTV.com/Downloads/Alnet/Alnet_VDR-S_APS_Dongle.zip
2. If the Dongle has an 8-Digit License number and has "CRYPTO APS" written on the dongle next to the Alnet Logo, then you can use the Alnet VDR-S 3.0 Software found here: http://Platinum-CCTV.com/Downloads/Alnet/VDRS_V3.0.0.304.zip With the Crypto software, you will enter the number that is located right on your dongle.
Note: If the Incorrect Software is used, you will receive the errors that you mentioned above, because the dongle will not be found. You will also receive the errors if you enter the incorrect number into the software.

Thank you for your help. I called the vendor I bought the system originally and they gave me my license number. It was not the number what was on the dongle. I reinstalled ver 2.0 and everything is fine.
