No Connection Could be made because...

Hi, I have had my camera system set up for a while, but when I try to connect to the cameras remotely, it says

"No Connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" and keeps trying to connect.

Can you tell me what this means?

Thanks

Excellent Question.

This error message means that you could not reach the address of your server...

Causes:
1.  Server Address is typed incorrectly  (Double check your registered address (ie. yourname.vdr-s.com)

2.  Ports are not forwarded properly through the router - Use this manual:
http://platinum-cctv.com/Downloads/Instructions/Security_Eyes_Pro_Remote_Connection.pdf

3.  Windows Firewall on the DVR PC is blocking the traffic - Disable the Windows firewall or open ports 9000, 9001 and 80

4.  Additional Software Firewall Programs may be running - (i.e.  Norton Internet Security or McAffe Internet Security)

Thank you
