RF Remote Control

Has anyone had problems with their RF remote control.  I've verified settings for SW1 and SW2 and they are correct.

The only time I get any movement from my cameras is when I plug in the power adapter.  After plugging in the power adapter, the cameras appear to scan for about 1 minute then nothing.  The RF remote does not cause any movement from either camera.  I've changed batteries in both remotes and no change.  Has anyone gotten these remotes to work???  And, before you ask, I've stood about 1 foot away and have tried both remotes on both cameras and nothing!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: RF Remote Control

Thank you for your inquiry,

The remotes do function for these cameras.  We would like to help you get yours working, but we will need more information in regards to the address that the camera is set to.

Please let us know the address setting for each of your cameras.

Also, Please ensure that the Remote's Power is turned ON (Switch on the side of the Remote Control) and that the address selector switch is set to the same address as the camera (Switch on the front of the remote control).

When you press the up, down, left or right buttons on the remote, do you see the red LED light up?

Thank you

Re: RF Remote Control
Ok, thanks for reponding.  I have one camera addressed #1 and the other as #4.  I have two remotes (each camera came with its own remote).  I have installed new batteries in each remote.  I have tried to get movement from both camera #1 and camera #4 from each remote and nothing.  When I try to control camera #1, my remote is set to #1 and the power is on.  When I press any of the arrow buttons the red light does come on but no movement from the camera.  The same is true when I try to control camera #4, remote is set to #4, and red light comes on, etc.

Re: RF Remote Control

Thank you for your response,

We have checked the service records on your cameras from your contact information through the retailer you purchased them from.  As is customary with any service return, we have our resellers run tests on the cameras for full functionality and keep records.  Both of your cameras were initially returned for a no-picture condition, which was resolved.  At the same time the remote controls were tested, as were the cameras for full functionality and control.  At that time both cameras and remote controls were functional.  When they shipped the cameras back to you, one of the RF remotes was omitted, and retested with another camera before it was reshipped back to you.

Due to the fact that they were functional and fully tested, we can't help but to think that a setting is incorrect on the camera itself.  So please bear with us as we review each of the settings.

1.  Disconnect the Power and remove the camera dome

2.  Locate the dipswitch settings shown below

3.  Double check the dipswitch settings for the address in the example shown below - black is the direction of the switch, not white.  so for address number 1, the 1st switch should be ON and the rest should be OFF.

4.  The protocol settings do not affect the operation of the RF Remote control.

Please set one camera to address #1 and one camera to address #2, then cycle the power on the cameras, and retest the remote control with the cameras...ensuring the remote control is on and set to the appropriate channel with the switch on the front of the camera.

Thank you

Re: RF Remote Control
I'll recheck the settings and get back to you.  Just as an FYI, the only time I get any movement out of the cameras now is when I first plug in power; I guess this is the "Normal Self-Test" that the cameras run on power up.  Do the buttons on the bottom of the remote do anything?  Specifically:  Buttons 1 & 2?  I assume that the Auto button puts the camera in an auto scan mode.  Is there some sort of time delay for camera movement after I press a button?  One more question, if I position the camera lens manually (because I can't get the remotes to work) will I damage the cameras?
